Chairman of the Eurasian Business Council, President of Association of Financial -Industrial Groups of Russia, Vice-President of the Russian Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Union.

Holds PhD in technical sciences, professor. He is an author of 60 inventions, 11 of which are internationally patented and 30 are currently used by metallurgical industry.

Over the years served as General Director of Karaganda Metallurgical Plant, Minister of Metallurgy of the USSR, President of “Roschermet” Corporation (Russia), First Deputy Prime-Minister of Kazakhstan – Minister of Industry, Chairman of Metallurgy Committee of Russian Federation, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russian Federation.

Currently – Vice-President of the Russian Producers Union, member of European Business Congress Presidium, member of Charity Fund Board of Trustees of Russian Chamber of Commerce (homeless children help centre), member of Unity of Orthodox Nations International Fund. He is a member of Engineering Academy and Natural Sciences Academy.

Was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labour, the Order of Friendship and the Second degree Order of the Nations’ Friendship of Kazakhstan.
